We do not ask for, and do not want, information about children. Please do not include children’s personal details in messages to us.
The free guide and emails
Our free guide is a direct download. You do not need to give us your name or email address to get it.
We do not run a mailing list at the moment. If we start one, we will ask for your permission first and update this page.
Our legal reasons for using your information
- Your consent, for analytics cookies. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Our legitimate interests, for replying to messages and keeping the site secure.
- Legal obligations, where a law requires us to keep or share information.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run the site:
- Netlify, Inc. hosts the website and stores form submissions. Netlify is based in the United States.
- Google (Google Workspace) provides our email. Messages you send us, and form notifications, are stored in our Google mailbox.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies and only if we have turned analytics on. See our Cookie Policy.
These companies may store information outside your country, including in the United States. When they do, we rely on their contracts and security measures to protect it.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Links to other websites
Our “Buy Now” buttons go to Amazon, and our Instagram link goes to Instagram. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We do not control them.
How long we keep it
- Contact form messages: up to 2 years after our last reply.
- Your cookie choice: 12 months in your browser, then we ask again.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it
- withdraw your consent at any time
- object to how we use it
- complain to a privacy regulator
To use any of these rights, email hello@olivetreetales.com. We will reply within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
In Canada, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. In the European Union or United Kingdom, you can contact your local data protection authority. In the United States, some states give you extra rights. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
Children’s privacy
This website is for parents and caregivers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in some countries). If you believe a child has sent us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.
Keeping your information safe
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We limit who can see form submissions, and we use trusted service providers. No website can be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are important, we will tell you on the site or by email.
